Riddim Track Records continues its run of jungle releases with RIDT1219, welcoming back one of the genre’s foundational figures, Coolhand Flex. The release centres around a new remix of “Like Dis,” Flex’s collaboration with Chris Energy, originally featured on Riddim Tracks 'Strictly Business' album in 1995. Known for its unmistakable groove and dancefloor impact, the track remains one of those records that instantly takes listeners back to jungle’s formative years. For this new version, Flex revisits the original idea with a fresh perspective. The remix keeps the core identity of the track intact while rebuilding the rhythm with modern production weight — bringing the tune back into today’s dancefloor context without losing the character that made it stand out in the first place. Flex’s place in jungle history is closely tied to De Underground Records, the East London shop run by his brother Mickey. During the 1990s the shop became an important hub for DJs, producers and MCs at the centre of the emerging jungle scene. Artists including DJ Randall and MC Fats were regular figures there, making it one of the key spaces where the culture developed and spread. With RIDT1219, that history feeds directly into the present. The record connects jungle’s foundations with the current generation of listeners, bringing a classic sound back into circulation through a new cut from one of the scene’s original innovators.
