OPEN DECKS @ PLANET WAX (WEDNESDAYS FROM 6-11PM)
We're glad you landed here. Since opening our space in New Cross back in 2022 every Wednesday we've opened up the DJ booth to 1000s of DJs of mixed skill / ability / genre / selection, and it's an integral part of our community... To get involved, just attend!
This is an example of the sign-up sheet you will find on entry to Planet Wax, the names will be drawn from a hat every half hour up until the last DJ set!
Checklist:
- I have my music, on VINYL, USB or CD ✅
- I have my own headphones ✅
- I agree to respect the equipment, and noise levels ✅

What genre(s) can I play? |
Breakbeat, Drum & Bass, Dub, Dubstep, Electro, Footwork, Funk, House, Jungle, Hardcore, Techno, UK Garage, etc, etc, etc... Generally any styles that we stock in the shop, but read the room! |

What's the DJ set-up? |
2 x Technics 1210 MKII (bring your own carts/styli) |

What time do I sign up? |
Sign up is open from 5:30pm and stops at 10pm |

Can I use a controller / laptop / |
We are unable to accommodate the setup of external equipment. |

Will my set be recorded? |
The open decks sessions are not recorded. |
Summary:
The draw starts just before 6pm, and last entires in by 10pm.
Names will be pulled out at random, raffle style - every 30 minutes.
DJ sets are 30-mins long, play what you like, within reason.. Read the room!
