Operating for almost a decade, Stones Taro can lay claim to being Japan's premier exponent of breakbeat-fired peak-time badness. Here the talented Japanese producer emphasises this point via a first appearance on Constant Sound offshoot Instinct

He brings the energy from the off on opener 'Wood Box', where deep sub-bass and a pitched-up funk break are peppered with soundman vocal samples and cut-up sound snippets, before recalling the early days of speed garage on the rumbling 'Extend Ring'. 'Stucking' sees him combine bustling breaks, dub-wise bass and metallic effects, while 'Breathe Twice' is a franky fithly, mind-mangling hat-tip to 2000s 'nu-skool breaks'.
